Board Treasurer

Robin's Bio

Robin is a recently-retired engineer and Holland-area resident. She graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer. She completed business and leadership training at USC, Wharton School, & Toyota’s executive training facility in Mikkabi, Japan.

Robin was raised in Flint, spending summers on the shores of Lake Michigan in her parents’ hometown of Frankfort. She treasures the dichotomy of her youth: contrasting the diversity of urban Flint with the small community of Frankfort. During her career, Robin has lived in the States from West (CA, AZ) to East (PA, KY). She moved to the Holland area in 2019 following her retirement from Toyota after 28 years. She was the executive in charge of construction, environmental, & facility engineering in North America. She also ensured Toyota continued to lead industry in environmental & energy stewardship. Returning to the workforce in 2020 as a Construction Manager for Amazon, she managed building construction projects across the Midwest. It was during this time Robin lost her wife/partner of 38 years. She leaned heavily on the superb Holland mental health professionals & the community provided by Out on the Lakeshore. This welcoming and accepting environment offered a foundation for Robin to engage, heal, and grow inside & outside the queer community. Robin moves forward as her authentic self, with her life partner, and is grateful for organizations such as OOTL. Retiring again in 2023, Robin plans to utilize her business and personal experience to develop, engage, & educate. Her goal is to strengthen support in the community at large, share the critical importance of mental health, & ensure necessary resources are available to all.
